Leo was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 3, 1923. He was employed as an airline mechanic for TWA until 1942 when he joined the Army Air Force. After an honorable discharge, he returned to TWA and continued with them until 1970 when he retired. He then moved to Glendora, Calif., with his family where he became interested in investing in real estate. He fell in love with Big Bear and retired here in 1988 with his wife, Agnes.
