Archie Underwood
Friday, January 27, 2006 

Archie Underwood Jr., 82, passed away on Jan. 21, 2006, at Health Central 
Hospital in Florida. Born on Dec. 12, 1923, 

in Santa Barbara, Archie was a six-year resident of Winter Garden, Fla. He 
lived in Lucerne Valley for 16 years out of 

the 76 he was in California and was a member of the Elks, Eagles and Moose 
lodges. He was also a heavy equipment 

operator for Macco Paramount. Archie is survived by his son, William I. 
Underwood and his wife, Barbara, of 

Summerville, S.C.; daughter, A. Karen Newell and her husband, Patrick, of 
Plymouth, Ind.; four grandchildren and six 

great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kern 
Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 

11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Road in Apple 
Valley. William Underwood will be 

officiating. Kern Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
