Born March 3, 1933, in Temple, Oka. Jim was a resident of Big Bear for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a golf course superintendent for many years for the L.A. City Parks and Recreation Department. Upon his retirement, Jim remained active with his special hobbies: building and flying model airplanes, golf, and fishing for bass in the many Southern California lakes. Jim was a devoted husband, a loving family and a very active dedicated grandfather. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; brother Bill; 10 children and step children; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness on Catalina Dr., Big Bear Lake. All who knew and loved him are welcome. There will be a potluck reception gathering immediately following (location to be announced). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Van Huss Memorial Fund at the Arrowhead Credit Union.
