San Diego Union; January 7, 1908 Mrs Elsie Davidson, Former Teacher Here, Succumbs to Appendicitis Miss Elsie Davidson, youngest sister of President G.A. Davidson of the Southern Trust and Savings bank, who was at one time a teacher in the public schools of this city, having been also a student at the high school and a graduate of the San Diego state normal, died in Los Angeles early yesterday morning from appendicitis. The sad intelligence was received by telephone by Mr. Davidson yesterday morning. Miss Davidson was spending her holidays with her sister, Mrs. Neiley, of Los Angeles, when the attack came apon her. On Friday last her condition was considered serious and Mr. Davidson was summoned. He went up at once and remained until the physicians announced that the crisis had passed and while the recovery would be slow, that anoperation would not be necessary and that she was out of danger. The end came between midnight and morning Monday. Mr. Davidson and family left at once and will probably bring the remains to San Diego for interment. Miss Davidson has a host of young friends here. She was of a sunny, happy disposition with charm and sweetness of character that endeared her to all. The eldest sister is now studying in Rome and the sudden taking away of the youngest sister will come as a great shock.
