President, Alexander & Baldwin, Ltd., trustee of the University of California, and a Director in various corporations and institutions; son of Samuel Thomas and Eliza Cooke Alexander; born on the Island of Maui, Territory of Hawaii, November 10th, 1869. Completed his collegiate education at Yale, the Sheffield Scientific School, graduating with the B. A. Degree, class of 1892. Is extensively interested in Sugar; sugar-cane plantations, its manufacture and distribution. During 1921-22, was President of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. Director in the following corporations: Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Columbia Steel Corporation. Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., of which he is Vice-President, Home Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Matson Navigation Co., Vice-President: San Francisco Community Chest: Travelers' Aid Society of San Francisco: Industrial Association of San Francisco, and Californians. Inc. Clubs: Pacific Union, Bohemian, Commercial Clubs of San Francisco. Pacific Club of Honolulu. Yale Club of New York City. Married Mary Simpson Barker, August 16th, 1904. Residence, Union and King Streets, Piedmont, California-Office, 215 Market St., San Francisco, California.
