C. Wolfe, Editor ANDERSON, Frank Bartow: President The Bank of California, San Francisco; born Macon, Georgia, July, 1863, son of George Wayne and Katherine Berrien Anderson. Attended private school at West Chester, Pa., and Mt. Pleasant Military Academy, Ossining, N. Y. Entered employ of American Exchange National Bank, New York City, in 1880 and remained there until 1902. Coming to San Francisco with twelve years of successful banking experience, he identified himself with The Bank of California in an official capacity, later to become its president, in which capacity he is at present functioning. He is director in the following: Alaska Packers' Association, California Packing Corporation, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Pacific Gas and Electric Co., Pacific Mail Steamship Company. Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Co., Spring Valley Water Company and Miller and Lux, Inc., the latter of which he is vice-president. Aside from these activities he is a trustee of Leland Stanford Junior University. Clubs: The Bohemian, Pacific Union, Commonwealth, Press, Burlingame Country and others. His military activities included nine years service in the 1st Naval Battalion of New York; during the Spanish-American War he was a lieutenant. Sr. grade, U. S. N. Married July, 1887, to Miss Elizabeth May Jadwin, and maintains his residence at Locust and Magnolia Streets. San Rafael, Calif.
