C. Wolfe, Editor SANFORD, John Bunyan: Editor, member Board of Harbor Commissioners. State of California, and former State Senator, born May 17th, 1869 in Tennessee, son of S. L. and Jane Kennedy Sanford. Came to California in 1882 from Shelbyville, Tenn. Educated public schools of California, and the State Normal schools at San Jose. Was a member of the California State Assembly from 1895 to 1899. State Senator for twelve years, from 1903, and Registrar of the United States Land Office, 1914 to 1921. At the present time is State Harbor Commissioner of California and editor of the Ukiah "Dispatch-Democrat," Ukiah, California. Is a Mason, Odd Fellow, Elk, and member Ancient Order of Foresters. Married Nina B. Hughes, December 25th, 1898. Residence, Dillon Beach, Marin County, California. Office Ferry-Building, San Francisco. Senator Sanford has a son, Henry G. Sanford. who is legal secretary to Justice Seawell of the State Supreme Court.
