HON. WILLIAM H. WASTE
  WASTE, William Harrison: Associate Justice Supreme Court of California. Born
Chico, Calif., October 31, 1868; son of John J. and Mary Waste. Educated in
Chico public schools, and later when the family moved to Los Angeles young Waste
entered the local high school and graduated in 1887, entering the University of
California at Berkeley in the same year, and graduating with the degree of Ph.
D. in 1891. Studied law at Hastings Law College in San Francisco, and graduated
in 1894. Was a member of the 35th and 36th, sessions of the Assembly of the
State Legislature. Was Presiding Justice of the District Court of Appeal, and
Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of California from 1921 to 1924,
inclusive. Served as President of the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco during
1923 and 1924. Was Grand Commander of the Knights Templar of California in 1922.
Is trustee of The College of The Pocific at Stockton, Calif., and The Pacific
School of Religion, at Berkeley. Married Miss Mary Jane Ewing of Virginia.
Resides at 1631 Oxford Street, Berkeley; Office, California Slate Building,
Civic Center, San  Francisco. Calif.
