August Herman Lochbaum, Sr., had establised a business in San Francisco as 
early as 1867 that manufactured jewelry boxes.  In both the 1870 & 1880 Census 
of San Francisco City & Co., California, he gives his occupation as Jewelry 
Box Mfct / Box Manfr
