San Francisco Call, August 29, 1903
“DIED. ASHTON— In this city, entered into rest, at his residence, 2965 Howard 
street, August 27, 1903, Charles, beloved husband of Elizabeth C. Ashton, a 
native of Manchester, England, aged 75 years 8 months and 5 days. Friends are 
respectfully invited to attend the funeral services Saturday, August 29, 1903, 
at 1:30 o'clock, at St. Stephen's Church, Fulton street, between Webster and 
Fillmore. Interment private. Please omit flowers.” END
