Kenneth Bailey Dies In California Word has been received here of the death of Col. Kenneth Bailey, 49, formerly of Maquoketa, who died suddenly Sunday at his home in Los Gatos, California. Funeral service was held Thursday afternoon, January 18, in San Francisco with burial in the San Francisco National Cemetery. Colonel Bailey, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bailey, was born in Jackson county on February 10, 1901. Following graduation from Maquoketa high school, he attended West Point military academy and was graduated from there in 1924. His Army career included service in Puerto Rico and the Philipines and during World War II he took part in the invasions of Africa and Sicily. He retired three years ago.
