Daily Alta California, April 26, 1888
"REPORTED AT THE MORGUE. The following cases were reported to the Coroner 
yesterday:
John Boysen, aged thrity-three, a Swede, died in the Receiving Hospital from 
the effects of an overdose of morphine taken by him in Hackmeier's hotel last 
Tuesday [April 24? or April 17?] Deceased was a deck-hand on the transfer 
steamer Solano at Benicia. His wife died a month ago, since when he has been 
very despondent and drinking heavily." END
