Daily Alta California, November 5, 1870
“Fatal Accident.— Yesterday morning William Brown, who had been employed in 
Smith & Daley's stable, on Laguna street, between Geary and O'Farrell, was 
found dead on the stable floor. It is supposed that he fell from the loft 
above, as his bead was crushed and his neck broken. The remains were conveyed 
to the Coroner's office.” END
