Deming, 73 years of age, formerly of the Capitol Milling Company and a pioneer, was accidentally asphyxiatedat his home in this city last night. He was found dead in bed this morning.It was seen that a tube connected with the gas heater, which he had left burning, had become loose and allowed the gas to escape. The deceased came to California from Oio in 1854 and at one time, with his brother, owned flour mills in various cities from Seattle to Los Angeles. Within recent years, however, these properties were sold, though the brothers retained large holdings of real estate.
