H. Farley, 83, father of Mrs. Ada Hornbeak, former old time resident of this city [Porterville] and grandfather of Farley Hornbeak, who is now with the Southern California Edison company at Long Beach. The service was under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World of Hanford of which the deceased was a charter member. The aged man was a native of Michigan, and came across the plains with his parents as a child of eight years. The family settled in Alameda county, later going to Visalia and from there to Hanford. Mr. Farley passed away at the home of his son, Ernest Farley, in San Francisco. The old pioneer witnessed great changes in his adopted state during his long residence of 75 years."
