He was active in the Sonoma County Trail Blazers, the Frontier Boys, E Clampus Vitus, and the Order of St. Hubertus. He enjoyed forty-five years in the Bohemian Club, many of those years as a member of Outpost Camp. St. George attended Grant Elementary School, was the Student Body President of Galileo High School in 1938 and later attended U.C. Berkeley. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1941 and served aboard the USS Grosbeak, USS Hornbill, and on Liberty Ships as an officer aboard the SS Eugene Skinner, MV Island Mail, SS Zona Gale and SS Cape Isobel in all theaters of the global conflict until after its conclusion. St. George was an active real estate broker and oil and gas broker starting in 1947 at his father's firm, St. George Holden Realty Co. He was also a distributor of televisions in the eleven western states during the 1950's. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Moira Kennedy Holden; his son, Charles "Rusty" Holden (his daughter-in-law, Roberta); his daughters, Helen Holden-Gladsky and Moira Holden Smith (his son-in-law, Jonathan). He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Alexander St. George Holden, Stewart Holden Smith, Julia Weber Smith, Kate Kennedy Gladsky and his sister, Mary Holden Meek. He was a devoted uncle to his sixteen nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Angus Holden and Dorothea "Ting" Nicolaus who predeceased him. Always a gentleman, he enjoyed the love of his family and a great life. His kindness and humor were his attributes enjoyed by his family and friends. A Memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin, 2325 Union Street, at Steiner, in San Francisco on Thursday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of gifts, please consider making a donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O.
