Page 4, Column 2. “DIED. In this city [San Francisco], November 24th, Margaret M. Harlan, aged 22 years, 2 months and 4 [2] days, eldest daughter of F. A. and Margaret Bonnard. Notice of the funeral will be given in to-morrow's papers.” END AND Daily Alta California, November 26, 1867 (Tuesday). Page 4, Column 2. “DIED. In this city [San Francisco], November 24th, Margaret M., wife of E [lisha] Harlan, of Amador, Contra Costa County, and eldest daughter of Margaret and F[rancis] A[lexander] Bonnard, aged 22 years, 2 months and 2 days. Her remains will be interred in the I. 0. 0. F Cemetery on Thursday morning [November 28], at 11 o'clock. Relatives and friends will attend the funeral from [the parents’ home at] No. 1509 Jackson street, between Hyde and Larkin.” END AND Sacramento Daily Union, November 27, 1867 (Wednesday), Page 2, Column 5. “DIED. In San Francisco, Nov. 24th, Margaret M., wife of E[lisha] Harlan, aged 22 years, 2 months and 2 days.” END Additional Comments: Margaret Murray Bonnard was a daughter of Francis Alexander Bonnard and Margaret (Williamson) Bonnard. She married Elisha Harlan on January 8, 1867, in San Francisco. He had arrived in California in 1846 with his father, George Harlan, and extended family. After his father died in 1850, he lived for a time with an older brother, Joel Harlan, in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. Later he homesteaded land in Fresno County near Riverdale.
