"DIED. REGENSBURGER - In this city, January 5, Jacob Regensburger, a native of Bavaria, German, aged 67 years." END AND The Morning Call (San Francisco, California) January 8, 1891 (Thursday) Page 3, Column 5 "DR. REGENSBURGER. His Body Interred at Odd Fellows' Cemetery. The funeral of the late Dr. Regensburger took place yesterday afternoon from the family residence, 1432 Geary street, to Odd Fellows' Cemetery. The hearse was preceded by the members of Bay City Lodge. I. O. O. F., and the Eureka Benevolent Association. At the residence the casket was placed in a parlor. The floral tributes were beautiful and so great in number that the room was filled and the broad stairway covered with them. Among the floral tributes were the following: a broken wheel and dove, the gift of the German Benevolent Association; a pillow with an arch and dove, from the German physicians, bearing the inscription, Vereius Azri" [sp?]; a large book, surmounted by an arch and a hanging dove, from the Ladies' Benovelent [sic] Society, with the name of the society. H. Herrman sent a beautiful pillow bearing the words "Rest in Peace," and M. Goldschmitt a pillow, on which was inscribed "Lost, a Dear Friend." Judge D. J. Murphy delivered a eulogy upon the life and character of the deceased. Other sympathetic remarks were made by Dr. James Simpson and Dr. Wilhelm, who spoke in German. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: [list of names].
