SMITH - in Oakland, March 4, 1898, at the honme of her daughter, Mrs. C. G. 
Simonds, Jane C., a relict of the late Captain C. H. Smith, and beloved mother 
of Mrs. H. W. Scheld, Mrs. C. G. Simonds, Mrs. W. H. Wessling, Mrs. H Vanier, 
Mrs. A. Geautit, and James L. and Charles H. Smith, aged 69 years 11 months 
and 15 days.

Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral to-
morrow Sunday) at 2 o’clock, from the residence of her son, Mr. Charles H. 
Smith, 1120 Broadway between Jones and Leavenworth.  Interment Odd Fellows’ 
Cemetery.
