The beautiful home was decorated throughout with flowers and plants. Archways of ferns and pedestals of blooming flowers formed a conspicuous part of the decorations. During the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Dr. F. B. Cherington of Plymouth Congregational Church, the orchestra played soft strains of music which at the close burst into glad and joyous notes. The bride was handsomely gowned in white silk en train, with bridal veil. About 150 guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. Smith have gone to Coronado and other points in Southern California, and will remain about a month. Lester B. Smith and Miss Grace M. Cole were married Tuesday, October 3, by Rev F. B. Cherington at the residence of the bride’s father, N. P. Cole.” END Additional Comments: San Francisco Call, October 8, 1899 (Sunday), Page 14, Column 1.
