Marjorie C. Alves

Feb. 3, 1931 — Feb. 13, 2006

Services will be Friday for Majorie C. Alves, 75, who died Monday at Eden 
Hospital in Castro Valley. 

Born in San Francisco, Mrs. Alves lived in San Leandro 42 years before moving 
to Tracy five years ago. 

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. 

Mrs. Alves is survived by her children, John Alves, Christine Grimes, Cheryl 
Williams and Mark Alves, all of Tracy, Tom Alves of Oakdale, Debra Melcher of 
Lincoln, Donna Alves of Alameda and Teri Krisman of Livermore; siblings, 
Charlotte McNabb of Oceanside and Teresa Sikes of San Leandro; 18 
grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews and 
friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, George E. Alves.

Friday’s services will begin at 11 a.m. at Machado’s Hillside Chapel, 1051 
Harder Road, in Hayward. 

Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd., in 
Hayward. Visitation will be observed from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Machado’s 
Hillside Chapel.
