He was born in Lehr, N.D., and farmed there until he moved to Lodi in 1939. He was employed by J.J. Hildenbrand & Sons as a painter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lydia; sons, Gordon of Sacramento and Gerald of Napa; a daughter, Delia Aman of Lodi; brother Otto of Lodi, Edwin of Seattle, Wash., Ben of Porttown, Wash., Jake of Ellendale, N.D., and Edward of Bismark, N.D.; sisters, Mrs. Martha Weintz of Lodi, Mrs. Christine Hauck of Fremont, Mrs Delores Hauck of Pacific Grove, and Mrs. Gottlieb Waltz of Wishek, N.D., and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
