Amaya Sept. 16, 1927 — Nov. 15, 2005 A graveside service will be Wednesday for John R. Amaya, 78, who died Nov. 15 at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Mr. Amaya was a resident of Hinkley 23 years and lived in Tracy seven months. He was a veteran of World War II. He retired from General Motors in Santa Fe Springs. He loved to gamble. Mr. Amaya is survived by his sons, Alfred and Alex Amaya, both of San Jose; six sisters, Hertensia A. Escobedo of Hinkley, Josie Ortiz of Delano, Lupe Espinoza, Helen Sierra, Olivia Santos and Rosa Santos, all of Tracy; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son John Amaya Jr.; daughter, Alma Amaya; a brother; a sister; and his parents. Wednesday’s graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. at Tracy Cemetery.
