Barbara Bender
Barbara (Bobbie) May Bender, 85, formerly of Lodi, died Oct. 28 in a hospital 
in Ennis, Mont. of lung cancer. She was born Barbara May Gibbons on Aug. 5, 
1920.

Mrs. Bender was raised in Lodi, where she attended school and played in the 
Lodi High Band. Later, she became one of the Grape Festival Queens. She married 
F.E. (Buck) Bender in 1941. They made their home on his father's vineyard to 
raise grapes and cattle until their retirement in 1981, when they moved to 
Ennis. 

She is survived by her sons, Gary, of Lodi, Rick, of Acampo; two grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Bender.

Services were held on Nov. 1 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Jeffers, Mont.

K & L Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
