Brown, who conducted a toy and crockery bazaar on South California Street several years ago, died yesterday in Turlock. She had been ill more than a year. The Brown family residence was in Brown’s Addition in North Stockton. The couple moved from Stockton to Denair, where Brown served as postmaster. Mrs. Brown, a native of Stockton, succeeded her husband in the Denair Postoffice, holding the position of postmaster from 1928 to 1936. She lived in Denair 25 years, going to Turlock two months ago to live with a daughter. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Turlock. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge Stockton and the Lebanon Rebekah Lodge of Stockton. She leaves three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Terrell of Turlock, Mrs. Ruby Gregory of Snelling, Mrs. Pearl Pratt of Stoccton, Clarence Brown and Savery Brown of Oakland and Guy Brown of Denair. Funeral services will be held from the J.W. Guy Funeral Chapel in Turlock at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Committal will be in Rural Cemetery, here.
