She was a 101 years old. She was born July 1, 1903 in Keltner, Missouri, one of 10 children. Later in life she married and moved to Shenandoah, Iowa and worked for Earl May Seed Co. for several years. Then she moved to California and settled down in Stockton in 1942. Iva worked as a Rosie the Riveter during WWII in the local shipyards. Her true talents were loving her family, cooking and growing flowers and various plants. She worked as a seamstress for the majority of the time after the war and retired about 1990. She is survived by her loving son, Ken Bateman Sr. of Stockton; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. There will be a service to celebrate Iva's life on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be held at Bear Creek Community Church, 11171 N. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA. There will be a short committal service following the church service at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 and E. Harney Lane, Lodi, CA. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
