Irene Edna Bennington 
Dec. 24, 1928 - March 11, 2005



Irene Bennington died March 11, 2005 at the age of 76. Irene was a native if 
Sydney, Australia. Irene and Douglas were married 54 years and lived in 
Stockton, CA and then Pleasanton, CA.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Bennington and beloved 
son, Wayne Bennington. She was a loving mother of Norah Bennington of Stockton, 
CA; and grandmother to Scott Sands of Stockton, Nathan Sands of Sacramento and 
David Sands of San Francisco. Irene is survived by her sisters, Iris Burns, 
Norah Stevens and Daphne Heavener; and many loving nieces and nephews in 
Australia.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Graham-
Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First Street, Pleasanton, CA 94566. Private Burial 
Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, CA.
Donations may be made in her name to Sutter VNA & Hospice, 4600 S. Tracy Blvd., 
Suite 101 Tracy, CA 95377 or the Hope Hospice, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Dublin, CA
