LaVernne Bowers 
Jan. 10, 1925 - April 4, 2005
 
LaVernne Bowers of Lodi, age 80 years, passed way in a Lodi hospital on Monday, 
April 4, 2005. She was born on January 10, 1925 in Fresno, California. She was 
married to Wayne H. Bowers on May 20, 1944. They resided in various areas and 
moved to Stockton in 1959. In 1990 they moved to Armour, South Dakota, and she 
moved to Lodi, CA in 1999. 
She was a homemaker, enjoying her little dog, Molly. She also was a teacher of 
the art of china painting for many years. She was a member of the Discovery 
Free Will Baptist Church in Stockton, Morada area, the Red Hat Society and the 
California Charter of Red Roses.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Bowers and his wife Melani of Lodi and Steven 
Bowers and his wife, Susan of San Jose; a daughter, Gayle Rojas and her 
husband, Richard of Lodi; 8 grandchildren, Dennis, Shannon, Ellen and Kevin; 
Steven, Jeffrey, Leah and Gayle, Korina and Triffin and 11 great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death her husband, Wayne H. Bowers in August, 1995.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at 
Discovery Free Will Baptist Church, 10300 N. Hwy. 99, Stockton, with Pastor 
Mathew Upton officiating. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in 
Lodi. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, Lodi, in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Lodi Memorial Hospital 
Foundation, Med./Surg. Unit, 999 S. Fairmont Ave., Ste. 105, Lodi, CA 95240.
