Inez Rebecca (Chillis) Brooks 
Dec. 27, 1912 - March 30, 2005

Inez Rebecca (Chillis) Brooks, born on December 27, 1912 in Glencoe, LA the 
eldest of 11 children. Inez "Mama Brooks" passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 
March 30, 2005 at the age of 92. Her grace, smile and wisdom will be missed by 
all who loved and adored her. The majority of her adult life was spent in 
Stockton, CA as the beloved wife of Stewart Brooks Jr. who passed in 1978. In 
1984, the widowed matriarch moved to Sacramento, CA and resided there with her 
eldest daughter and son-in-law until her death. She was also preceded in death 
by six siblings and one grandson, Stewart Floyd.
She leaves to treasure her memory, daughter, Audrey Fey and son-in-law, John 
Floyd; daughter, Willie Ann and son-in-law, Henry Allen; three grandsons, 
Bradley Oliver Sr., Ernest Charles Johnson Jr., Randy Johnson and his wife 
Kenyatta; one granddaughter, Donyelle Floyd and six great-grandchildren, 
Bradley Oliver Jr., Wellington Johnson, Nimoy Isaiah Floyd-Fields, Darrius W. 
Johnson, Chantel Inez Johnson and Kennedy Elizabeth Ann Johnson; four siblings, 
as well as many nieces, nephews and other close family and friends.
Services and Interment will take place at South East Lawn Memorial Park and 
Mortuary, 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA. Friends and family are 
welcome during viewing on Wednesday, April 6, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 
8:00 p.m; immediate family members will be present between 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 
p.m. Funeral Services on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of 
flowers, donations in Inez Brooks' name may be made to "Gifts to Share" 1231 I 
St., Suite 400, Sacramento, CA 95814; Funds will be distributed to Triple R 
Alzheimer's Day Care Centers.
