Born in Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, to David Crable and Elaine Matlock, he and his mother moved to California in 1988 and to Tracy in 1989 where he was also raised by his stepfather, Kyle Ching. He attended Tracy High School and was a wide receiver and equipment manager on the Bulldogs football team before graduating in 2001. Mr. Crable, affectionately known to friends as “B rabbit,” “little man crab” and “shorty,” worked four years as an independent contractor with the maintenance staff for In-Shape Health Clubs in both Tracy and Manteca. He loved riding motorcycles, spending time with his brother, Colt Ching, 14, and his friends, and playing pinball. He was known as a walking sports encyclopedia who could not go to sleep unless SportsCenter was playing on TV. He was also an outspoken supporter of medicinal marijuana rights. Mr. Crable is survived by his mother, Elaine Matlock of Tracy; father, David Crable of Cincinnati, Ohio; stepfather, Kyle Ching of Red Bluff; brother, Colt Ching of Tracy; stepbrother, Kyle Ching Jr. of Chico; grandparents, Esther Boots and Angelo “Papa” Perez, both of Cincinnati; uncle Curry Matlock of Pacifica; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Cincinnati. Saturday’s memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the chapel. A reception will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Elk Lodge, 6400 W. 11th St. Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Tracy Cemetery. Motorcyle riders are asked to attend on their bikes in support of a fellow rider. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Crable’s name may be sent to a college fund for his brother, Colt Ching, at Wells Fargo Bank in Tracy.
