Curtis, 89, of Woodbridge died on Oct. 30 at a local hospital. She was born in Old Fort, N.C., on Aug. 13, 1916. Mrs. Curtis worked for Stokley Van DeKamp-Pacific Coast Producers Cannery for 53 years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Woodbridge. She is survived by her children Elder Curtis, of Lodi, and Lovada Barrier, of Old Fort, N.C.; a brother, J.R. Allison, of Virginia; two sisters, Gladys Holifield, of Marion, N.C., and Bertha Effler, of Old Fort, N.C.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Curtis in 1970; two sons, Charles and Guy Curtis; a brother, Oscar Allison; and a sister, Pearl Lewis. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lodi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, P.O. Box 388, Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204 or to the Missionary Baptist Church, 673 E.
