Arlene Castaneda 
Arlene Esther Castandeda, 69, of Galt, died March 29 in a Sacramento hospital. 
She was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Fresno.

Ms. Castaneda lived in Lodi for 20 years before settling in Galt for the last 
five years. She was a field worker until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting 
and planting roses.

She is survived by her sons, Juan Alvarez, Omar Alvarez, Jose Sandoval, Carlos 
Aguilar and Roman Bautista; daughters, Reyna Mendoza, Maria Estrada and 
Guillermina Yepez; 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Christopher's 
Catholic Church in Galt. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, 
and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ben Salas Funeral Home. A rosary will be 
recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
