Chikala "Chik" Chaumbara 
June 21, 1931 - March 4, 2005



Chikala "Chik" Chaumbara, of Stockton, passed away March 4, 2005. Chikala was 
born on June 21, 1931 to George (who preceded him in death) and Willie Grimes 
in Fort Wort, Texas, who later re-married his step-dad, Terry Johnson. He 
leaves 8 children, Karen Grimes-Burnside, Denise Taylor, Rolena Young, Roland 
Young, Yolanda Young, Ramona Young-McDaniels, Michael Young, Aaron Young; 1 
brother, Kermit Lewis Kims of Menlo Park and one sister, Sarah Ann Grimes-
Walker (preceded him in death); 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, three 
daughter-in-laws; two son-in-laws, very special acknowledgment to family 
members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial 
Way, Lodi on Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside services will be held on 
Friday, March 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Cherokee Memorial Park.
