DeBono of Lodi and former resident of Stockton passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 in a Palo Alto hospital at the age of 67. Mr. DeBono was born June 10, 1938 in Stockton, California to George and Bernice DeBono. Mr. DeBono worked for Dunmore Homes in Sacramento as a Real Estate Broker for the past 5 years, as well as Canaan Land Properties in Stockton before retiring in 2005. He previously worked as a Sales Rep. for Walter's Carpet's in Lodi for many years and also previous owned and operated Joseph Bernard Clothing Store in Stockton. In 1974 Mr. Debono married his loving wife of 32 years Georgine Rishwaine-Debono and moved to Lodi. Mr. DeBono attended and graduated from St. Mary's High School Class of 1956 and also from Delta College where he received an AA Degree. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Dept. of California Real Estate Board. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fly-fishing, gardening, trips to Carmel and the Sierra Foothills. He will be best remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgine DeBono of Lodi; 2 daughters, Marissa Mayer and husband, Jeffery of Lodi, Alexis DeBono and fiancé, Daniel Lauchland of Lodi; 1 brother, Thomas DeBono and wife, Karen of Stockton; 1 niece, Gina DeBono of Stockton; and a cherished grandson, Christian Mayer of Lodi. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Temple Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 12:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories may be shared.
