George Dechant
George M. Dechant, 68, of Galt, died Oct. 4 of natural causes. He was born Dec. 
2, 1936, in Renova, Penn.

Mr. Dechant served in the U.S. Airforce for four years and in the U.S. Marine 
Corps for six years. He worked as an airline pilot. 

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Bernice Clayton-Dechant; sons, George 
M. Dechant Jr. and Clyde C. Dechant; daughter, Dawn Crowl; stepson, Wallace 
Clayton III; stepdaughters, Kathryn Gilford, Cherly Ayton and Lisa Michelle 
Clayton; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Ben 
Salas Funeral Home.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
