Brandon Christopher Dewey, 20, who died Friday in Iraq. Born in Hayward, Lance Cpl. Dewey lived in Tracy 16 years. He served two tours in Iraq and was most recently conducting combat operations in the Al-Anbar province. As a member of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Lance Cpl. Dewey was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Service Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and Purple Heart with Gold Star in lieu of second award. Lance Cpl. Dewey is survived by his parents, Julia and Scott Conover of Tracy, and Mark and Michelle Dewey of Arizona; siblings, Elyse Dewey of Tracy and Jason Norrish of Clayton; grandparents, Joan Siers of Livermore and Glenn Dewey of Chico; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Monday’s services will begin at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1635 Chester Drive. Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S.
