Mrs. Esquivel was born in Puebla, Mexico. She lived in Oakland 43 years, and then in Tracy 10. She was a homemaker, an active member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Oakland and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. She was very proud to have visited the Holy Land for the last 33 years where she held a Memorial Mass for her late husband. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and having family get- togethers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Esquivel is survived by her children, Theresa Hernandez, and her husband, Peter, of Copperopolis, Carmen Mayfield, and her husband, Fred, of Livermore, Louis Esquivel, and his wife, Estela, of San Jose, Michael Esquivel, and his wife, Nellie, of Dublin, Jorge Esquivel, and his wife, Maria, of Oakland, and Martha Dunning, and her husband, Rick, of Tracy; sister, Marina Camacho of Oakland; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Luis Esquivel. Monday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., followed by the recital of a rosary at 5. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 4529 Howe St., in Oakland. Contributions in Mrs. Esquivel’s name may be sent to Hogar Paz Y Bien, P.O. Box 2119, Nogales, AZ 85628.
