He began his successful career with his father, a brick mason from Italy. "Bob" eventually turned this into a contracting business, Franco Construction. His business was quite successful. Also, when he retired from contracting he bought and owned the Franco Center. Bob was a family man who was devoted to family traditions. He was a cook, an avid collector and could do anything he chose in excellence. He also had many friends and gave all his life to his family, his friends and of course, his hobbies, his play yard "deadass junction" his Hot rod shop. Bob was a devoted and caring father to Stacey and Danny, Dawana Dozier, Tracey Franco-Simon, Walter Simon, her husband and guy. The light of his life was his grand kids, Robert Franco, Alexandra and Nick Franco and Lauren Mazzera, also Sera and Kaitlyn Simon. He was a long time companion and very devoted to Ginger Mazzera and like a loving son to Alice Mazzera. He had many, many friends whom he cared deeply. "Bob" was a self-made man who was deeply loved by many. He will be missed by all that knew him. Private committal at San Joaquin Catholic Mausoleum, Stockton on Friday, April 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday there will be a gathering at Bob's Home, 7406 Woodside Dr. where all who wish to attend are welcome to celebrate his life with a Street Rod Run from his house to his shop at 323 S. American Street, Stockton, where a Celebration of Life service will be held. There will be no visitation. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Mausoleum.
