Dec. 11, 1967 - October 22, 2005

Donald Hughes Grubbs, III lost his life in a car accident in Modesto, 
California on October 22, 2005. Don was born in Miami, Florida on December 11, 
1961. He moved with his parents to Stockton in August of 1963. Don was a 
graduate of Edison High Class of 1980. After his graduation he entered the 
United States Air Force where he became a crew chief for F15 fighter planes. 
Don was living in Modesto at the time of his accident. Don was an avid outdoors 
man who loved the Sierra Nevada. He hiked, fished and skied. He also 
participated in the sports of golf and field archery. Don was a passionate 
gardener. His roses were the envy of the neighborhood as was his bonsai. He was 
also a skilled craftsman and artist. He made his living in the field of 
Construction in the area of plumbing and installation of heating and air-
conditioning units.

Don is survived by his father, Donald H. Grubbs II; his mother, Roberta J. 
Rosario; his wife, Marylinn Welch-Grubbs; his son, Eric Jonathan Grubbs; his 
brother, Jeff Cox-Grubbs and his sister, Katy Cox-Grubbs. After a private 
viewing at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora, Don was laid to rest in 
Tuolumne at the Carter Cemetery on October 31, 2005 in a ceremony.
