Stephen John Gardella Sr.

Dec. 20, 1933 - March 29, 2005



Stephen John Gardella, Sr., was born December 20, 1933 in Stockton and passed 
away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Lodi. Stephen was a graduate of the University 
of California, Davis and he was a United States Army Veteran from 1953 to 1956. 
Mr. Gardella was a longtime Lodi resident where he farmed grapes for many 
years. 
He was the beloved husband for 44 1/2 years of Cindy Gardella of Lodi; loving 
father of Stephen Gardella Jr., of Lodi, Mark Gardella of Lodi, Devlin Gardella 
and his wife Tania of San Francisco, Stephenie Gardella of Lodi and Shelby 
Gardella of San Francisco. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chaski 
Giovanni Gardella (Delvin's son) and Evan Leaf Banning and Elijah River Banning 
(Shelby's sons); also survived by nieces and nephews; dear brother of Marjorie 
Moore (Gen. William G. Moore Jr. Ret.) of Tenn and the late Winifred Towns and 
the late Joe Gardella Jr. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and 
Mary Gardella.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will 
be celebrated on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic 
Church, 203 E. Washington St., Stockton CA. There will be a Rosary Service on 
Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. 
California St., Stockton, CA. Visitation will be Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 
7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Deyoungs. Committal 
will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
