Ferrero John L. Ferrero, 85, of Lodi passed away Thursday morning, August 5, 2004, at his home. John was born at Haight Station on February 23, 1919, which was near Lodi. Mr. Ferrero attended local schools and graduated from Lodi Union School High Class of 1938. He was involved as a vineyardist for much of his life, as well as a mechanic to Tillie Lewis Cannery prior to retirement. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45 in the 752nd Anti-Aircraft Unit in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a member of Lodi Eagles Lodge #848, life member of the Lodi Italian Club and S.I.R.S. #18. He enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, vegetables, gardening and travel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Angie Ferrero of Lodi; daughter, Susan Ferrero of Lodi; sister, Lucy Ferrero Milla and husband, Al Milla Sr., of Fresno; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Violet and Ted Leventini, Sr., of Acampo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Deanna and Alex Delu, Jr., of Lodi. Cryptside services will be held Tuesday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home.
