Amado B. Chaparro Jan. 14, 1931 — May 6, 2004 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday for longtime Tracy resident Amado B. Chaparro, 73, who died Thursday at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Born in Rocky Ford, Colo., Mr. Chaparro lived in Tracy 53 years. He worked 30 years as a forklift driver for H.J. Heinz Co. Mr. Chaparro loved fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and lived to see his new grandchild Angelina Ramirez and great-grandchild Joshua Tova. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vera Chaparro of Tracy; sons Larry Fragoso, Porfidio Garcia and Robert Chaparro, all of Tracy; daughters Isabel Fragoso of Stockton, and Betty Guzman and Jessica Tova, both of Tracy; brothers Marcello Chaparro of San Jose, Manuel Chaparro of Manteca, and Daniel Chaparro and Chris Chaparro, both of Tracy; a sister, Vera Gutierrez of Tracy; an uncle, Joe Blea of Tracy; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Chaparro. Wednesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., with a rosary following at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery. Stephens Sr., 60, who died April 30. Born in Stockton, Mr. Stephens lived in Tracy 59 years before moving to Manteca several months ago. He was a retired mechanic. Mr. Stephens is survived by his sons, Roy E. Stephens Jr. of Manteca and Richard M. Stephens of Alaska; and seven grandchildren, Ray Stephens III, Dylan Stephens and Hailey Stephens, all of Manteca, Houston Stephens of Lodi, Rachel Stephens of Salida, and Savanna and Richell Stephens, both of Alaska.
