Lorraine A. Basurto Jan. 12, 1927 — Aug. 9, 2004 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday for longtime Tracy resident Lorraine A. Basurto, 77, who died Monday at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Born in Fillmore, Mrs. Basurto lived in Tracy 30 years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Basurto was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. She loved horses. She enjoyed gardening, playing croquet and cards, drawing, crocheting, dancing and singing. She loved children and watching her grandchildren, and she will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother and friend to many. Mrs. Basurto is survived by three sons, Ernie Basurto, and his wife, Linda, of San Jose, and Rudy Basurto, and his wife, Sofia, and Ralph Basurto Jr., and his wife, Enedina, all of Tracy; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Basurto Sr., two brothers and one sister. Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 162 W. Eaton Ave. A rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., where a registry book will be available to sign from noon to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Basurto’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Modesto 95350.
