Lippert, 83, of Lodi, died Aug. 10 in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Ashley, N.D. Mr. Lippert moved to Lodi in 1936, where he graduated from Lodi High School in 1938. He attended two years at Humphrey's Business College in Stockton. Walter Lippert He served in the U.S. Army for four years, and was discharged as a sargeant major. He married Trudie Schroeder in 1950 at Temple Baptist Church. He was employed as a manager at Delta Pumps for 55 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where he served for over 55 years in various capacities in the Sunday school department. He was a member of Germans from Russia, and the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. He enjoyed animals, old cars, and spending time with friends. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Lippert, of Lodi, Jim Lippert, of Livermore, and John Lippert, of Incline Village, Nev.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Trudie Lippert, in 2000; sisters, Emma Doerr and Ella Broschat; and brother, Albert Lippert. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Westside Assembly Church, 75 N. Crescent Ave. at Pine Street, Lodi, with Pastor Perry Kallis of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way at Beckman Road, Lodi. Memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
