He was born June 10, 1917, in Medina, N.D. Mr. Lehr moved to the Victor area in the mid-1920s, where he attended Victor School. He married Gladys Hamrick in 1947, and they made their home in Acampo until moving to Lodi in 1981. He worked as the foreman at Jahant Ranch for 45 years until his retirement in 1979. He was also self employed as a cattle rancher. He was a former governor of the Loyal Order of Moose in Lodi. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Lehr, of Lodi; sons, Ted Lehr, of Lodi, and Bryan Lehr, of Stockton; daughters, Kathleen Garrett, of Lake Forest, Diane Scott, of Lodi, Cheryl Wilkerson, of Stockton, and Belinda Lehr, of Sacramento; brother, Herman Lehr, of Lodi; sisters, Bertha Wolfe, of Lodi; Martha Schneider, of Fresno, Barbara Biskeborn, of Lodi, Amelia Pankow, of Modesto, Esther Ilges, of Marysville, Rose McClean, of Lodi, Adelia Kauffman, of Castro Valley, Edna Foley, of Sacramento, and Agnes MacAuley, of Gardnerville; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Violet Lehr; and brothers, Vernon Lehr and Albert Lehr. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park with Pastor Curt Vogt of Vinewood Community Church officiating. Committal will follow.
