Marcolina López April 25, 1921 — April 29, 2004 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday for longtime Tracy resident Marcolina López, 83, who died April 29 at her daughter’s home following a lengthy illness. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mrs. López lived in Tracy 24 years and previously in Oakland. She was a homemaker. Mrs. López was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Tracy and St. Elizabeth’s Church in Oakland. She liked music, dancing, gardening, cooking, taking trips to Reno, Nev., and reading Spanish novellas. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. López is survived by four children, Wanda and Lourdes López, both of Tracy, Victor López Jr. of San Jose and Arnaldo López of Oakland; four siblings, Milagros Lahoz, and Mercedes and Francisca Torres, all of Puerto Rico, and Honorio Oyola of Fremont; 11 grandchildren, Ricardo, Arnaldo Jr., Robert and Marcos López, Trinidad and Andrea Freyre, Jose Jr., Victor and O’Mayra Davila, and Francisco Garcia III and Taisha Arroyo; three great- grandchildren, Lyric López, Alexus Neal and David Clark; and a great-great- granddaughter, Alexandra Casados. She was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband, Victor López, and two daughters, Thelma López and Isabel Freyre. Friday’s Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 162 W. Eaton Ave. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., where visitation will be observed from 2 to 7 p.m. today. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mrs. López’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2720 Gateway Oaks, Ste. 110, Sacramento 95833.
