He was born March 7, 1917, in Goodrich, N.D. Mr. Waters was raised in Lodi and worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army in the south Pacific during World War II. He married his wife Margie in 1943 in San Francisco. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering in 1951. He was employed by PG&E for 25 years until his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed RV trips to Reno "snowbird" for 20 years, spending summers in Boise, Idaho, and winters in Yuma, Ariz. He is survived by his son, Gary Waters, of Nevada City; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Waters, in 1999; sister, Lillian Perin; and brothers, Earl Waters, Cleo Waters and Ervin Waters. Burial will be held at the Indian Springs Cemetery in Penn Valley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Chapel of the Angels Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
