Andrew Caratenuto


Andrew John Caratenuto, 57, of Lodi, died Aug. 20 in a local hospital following 
a brief illness. He was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Hackensack, N.J.

Mr. Caratenuto moved to Whittier with his family in the early 1960s. He was a 
corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam. He earned a 
bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from California State 
Polytechnical University in San Luis Obispo. Following his graduation, he moved 
to Manchester, Pa. He married Kristine Blaskey in 1974. They settled in Lodi in 
1995.

He worked as an engineer in the refrigeration industry for 19 years. He was a 
member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9009 in Lockeford and was also 
active in Boy Scouts. He enjoyed cooking and collected teddy bears.

He is survived by his wife, Kristine; son, Michael; daughter, Dana; and 
sisters, Roslyn Kerneen and Kathy Hughes.

Services are pending.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
