Mary Elizabeth (Owen) Kollmann


Mary Elizabeth (Owen) Kollmann passed away following a long illness on 
Wednesday, August 25, 2004, in Galt, CA. She was born February 4, 1916, in 
Mankato, MN to Llewelyn and Susannah (Wallace) Owen. She was married to Archie 
Kollmann on November 14, 1936, in Mankato, MN. Mary was a resident of Eugene, 
OR for 3 years, later moving to San Jose, CA, where she resided for 43 years. 
She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Sunnyvale and later for Moreland School 
District for 16 years. She retired in 1980.

Mrs. Kollmann had many friends in the San Jose area and was active in two RV 
Camping Clubs, the Willow Glen Eastern Star; the Kirk Senior Citizen's Group 
and the Retired Sheet Metal Worker's Group. She moved to Galt in 1998 to be 
near her daughter, Susanne and son-in-law, Stephen. She made many friends and 
was previously active before her illness in the Galt Senior Citizen's Group and 
the Galt Grange. She was always very proud of her Welsh ancestry.

Mrs. Kollmann is survived by her devoted loving daughter and devoted son-in-
law, Susanne and Stephen Furtado, with whom she lived with; her special devoted 
grandson, Jefferson Furtado; and her loving daughter and son-in-law, Sharalyn 
and Vern Roberts of Oroville, CA.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Archie Kollmann, her dear 
parents, Llewelyn and Susannah; her dear stepmother, Luella; dear twin brother, 
Jean "JW" Owen and five sisters. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, 
nieces and nephews also survive her

Mary requested no services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers you 
make your donations to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, 
95204. Our special thanks to Hospice of San Joaquin for their wonderful care in 
Mary's last days. Mary is at peace now and in God's loving care.
