IRENE PALMTAG


Irene H. Palmtag, 88, passed away August 31, 2004, at a local rehabilitation 
hospital.

Irene was born January 26, 1916, in Canada. At a young age she moved to 
California with her family. She has resided in Lodi for the past 20 years. 
Irene married Virgil Ervin Palmtag on February 15, 1936.

She worked in the cannery business for many years as a floor lady, retiring as 
a lab technician.

Irene enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with her late husband. A family 
tradition was going to Bodega Bay every Thanksgiving. She liked to work puzzles 
and knit as well as cooking.

She is survived by two sons, Craig and wife, Linda and Kevin and wife, Vonnie; 
four grandchildren, Shane Palmtag, Staci Tourville, Erik Palmtag and Jodi 
Anaya; great-granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Anaya and many nieces, nephews 
and their children.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 3, 2001; three sisters and one 
brother.

A memorial service will be held September 25 at 2:00 pm at the Lodi Avenue 
Baptist Church, 2301 W. Lodi Ave., Lodi, CA, with Pastor Mike Abdollahzadeh 
officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
